Tumor is Shrinking

So I had a CT scan this past Monday and I had hoped the results would be uploaded to the online portal I use to see my labs, but that didn't happen. I had to wait until I saw my oncologist today. It was a very fast appointment today.

He walked in a said something like everything looks great, the scan shows that the tumor is smaller. My left lung is still not at 100% capacity and that was very clear on the scan. Essentially, the bottom of the pleural cavity has created a membrane at the bottom 15-20%. This could improve or it will remain that way. It is not a serious medical concern. He mentioned another trial I could potentially participate in if the current medication, Osimertinib ceased being effective. Then he examined me and confirmed that my lower left lung was not having full breath sounds which comports with the CT scan.

After I got home, I reviewed the results in detail and compared them to the initial CT scan I received in the ER back in late February. The initial size was 3.5cm x 3 cm. The latest scan showed the tumor was 3cm x 2cm. That is an approximate 43% reduction in size after only 3 months of dietary intervention and only 2 months on the cancer drug. He did say that I have not even hit the full therapeutic range yet for the medication at 2 months, so he was hopeful we would continue to have good progress.

Additionally, I have blood drawn before every oncology appointment. This time was no different. The results showed that I my LDH had come down even more and was at 147U/L compared to 357 U/L when I first visited him in March. All my other lab results were good.

I have my head MRI on Monday and my Radiological Oncology appointment next Friday. I will provide an update once I have results.
