The Waiting Game

This is just a brief update...or at least I think it will be. I have mostly been waiting this week, making some phone calls, receiving some phone calls, and trying to get things scheduled but no new appointments this week other than the last one with the pulmonary specialist who drained more fluid.

I have been working which is nice. I have informed all those people I work closely with along with all of those above me in the organization. The response has been great and supportive. Everyone is always offering to do something for me which is nice, and I have no problem asking for what I need and want. I simply informed the team I work closely with that I may experience hours or days where I don't respond to emails and such. My request was for them to simply message me when there is something more urgent I could be missing so I can inform them I am unable to do it, or I become aware and can address it quicker. They have been amazing.

On the lung front, I do think the fluid is building back up which is noticeable in my shortness of breath and how winded I get climbing the stairs. My guess is I will need this drained again early next week.

On the diet front, I have been on hardcore keto for 4 full days and the worst is over but still not fully at a 100%. If you are not familiar, when someone first changes their diet to exclude carbohydrates the body reacts negatively as it slowly switches from burning glucose to burning fat. It can include malaise, fatigue, headaches, sleep issues, low-grade fever, etc. This is why they call it the keto flu. My energy is improving. No headaches. Overall feeling better. It is just this darn left lung which is mostly out of commission.

I will post again where something substantive changes or I have some thoughts to share.
